CURRENT MARKET

While SOA and Web services are driving all vendors’ ERP redevelopment efforts, SOA is not high on the IT priority list at many companies.

Oracle E-Business Suite 12 includes Web services and XML reporting capabilities, technology that are part of Fusion, making it easier for customers eventually to jump to those applications. Oracle been building up the SOA and business process management capabilities of its Fusion middleware products. Oracle SOA Suite has tools for deploying and managing SOA systems, including BPEL Process Manager for defining and executing business processes. Skills in demand include experience with Oracle BPEL tools, Web Services Manager, Oracle BI Suite EE 3, and Oracle WebCenter Suite

Prepackaged BI applications that can work across multiple sources—PeopleSoft, JD Edwards and Siebel—allow users to analyze data across these systems, a key functionality. Because Oracle BI Suite EE 3 is integrated at a number of different points throughout the Oracle Fusion Middleware stack, skills in Oracle BI Publisher, Oracle BPEL Process Manager and Oracle Portal are valuable.
